Not to mention sovereignty issue, even taiwan geostrategic location as important piece of first island chain to China, is much more higher rank in priority to China than just some semiconductor fabs or even Chinese economy health in general. Of course China prefer to settle it peacefully, but if it isn't possible, China will definitely go to war.

I found the US strategists are delusional these days. Even the fact that they think China can monopolize semiconductor industry if it take over taiwan is dumb assumption. Who says that other countries can't purchase lithography machines from ASML and build fabs in other nations? This is not oil or gas fields that can't be removed we are talking about.

Anyway, China should help the US spread this scorched earth strategy in taiwan. Let's the taiwanese people know what their "protector" want to do to them. China should also help spread the news that the US only want taiwanese scientists to evacuate, and let the rest be cannon fodders.
