RISC is built around the concept of minimum instruction set, they naturally have more similarities than differences. LoongArch is based on MIPS and RISC-V plus customization, its main purpose is to be independent from the respective ISA, their focus is not on feature differences for the initial release. Their first version just released last year, they're free to update the ISA in future version, so future version will have more differences. Personally I think they keep the similarities so as no need to make too many changes initially to kernel, compiler etc. their team is rather small, too little investment from the government, most of which gone to the like of Zhaoxin, which is just literal copy of Intel ISA. Just wait until Intel sue their pants off.
