1950s was the time when most colonies were given independence.  It was not "given" because of any sense of Kumbaya overcame the White colonial masters but rather, due to the complete devastation of their homelands because of WW1 and WW2.

These newly "independent" "3rd world" countries were poor and undeveloped and were happy just be included in the cool kid club even though they are still treated with disgusts and contempt. 

While Europe was economically and militarily in taters, economic and military hegemony were put under the safekeeping of the US, the only superpower with a functional economy and military.  The US inherited the responsibility to perpetuate the dominance of the Anglosphere.

3rd worlders were happy just to consume American goods as they project a sense of superiority over the "unwashed massess."  Speaking English was seen as being educated and high class.  A lot of trust were put on the Anglo system.  It started to unravel after the 2008 economic crisis.  In 2022, the trust is basically almost all gone.  

That colonial racial hierachy is always there but hidden beneath the surface by whitewashing it with proxies like token diversity representations and superficial but optically effective "politically correct" social movements.  This has reached its limit.  All those BS are no longer working.

Finally, the post-colonial honeymoon is over.  Or is it?
