Regardless, except for actually breaking news, most "live reports" usually aren't live from the viewers' perspective, they are only live from the newscasters' perspective. After taping they get processed/edited and then broadcast. Standard US practice is to show a "LIVE" symbol somewhere on the screen during actual live broadcasting.
