Ok, so in other words you disproved your own nutty conspiracism here

Either it was a legitimate gain-of-function research endeavor, or it was a legitimate basic science research endeavor on COVID spike protein function per BU statements.

"“First, this research is not gain-of-function research, meaning it did not amplify the Washington state SARS-CoV-2 virus strain or make it more dangerous. In fact, this research made the virus replicate less dangerous."
The BU said the research made the virus less dangerous, but in actuality the virus didn't become less dangerous. They said the S protein made Omicron highly transmissible, how would transferring this protein to a more dangerous virus make it less dangerous?
The recently identified, globally predominant SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant (BA.1) is highly transmissible, even in fully vaccinated individuals, and causes attenuated disease compared with other major viral variants recognized to date. The Omicron spike (S) protein, with an unusually large number of mutations, is considered the major driver of these phenotypes.
Then they go on to said the lab is governed by strict safety procedures. That reminds me why Fort Detrick need to be shutdown for a year by CDC.

How can you be THIS intellectually dishonest??? Either that or you literally have ZERO understanding of what you are even posting in the first place.

YOUR citation here says this: "Consistent with studies published by others, this work shows that it is not the spike protein that drives Omicron pathogenicity, but instead other viral proteins"

Instead you totally ignore this BU study conclusion as stated clearly and plainly in your own goddamn article, and instead you dishonestly conglomerate a mishmash of non sequiturs to make a bullsh1t argument about the S spike protein, an example of a protein which the scientists in this study were SPECIFICALLY REFUTING as a potential etiology of COVID pathogenicity and virulence! WTF, man???
