I agree with the 80% that think China don't have coherent strategy for peacefully unifying TW. The naive faction were in charge of Tibet, Xinjiang, HK policy and they consistently screwed up everything they were in charge of. Typically they'd cover up the problem and pretend everything was great, so had to wait until problem in each place exploded in their face before rectification to their naive policy could be made. TW policy, like terminal phase cancer patient is too late to take corrective measure, can only try to prolong its life. It'll be the most costly screw up to rectify. Everytime Biden open his mouth, it sound like he's trying to egg TW on, sooner or later, Tsai or her successor Lai, may bite the bait.TW Affairs Office today just made a self congratulatory announcement that they've done a great job over the past decade. It's hopeless, the state department is staffed by delusional clowns and fools.
