got her start as one of the leader of the Democrat party by sneaking off during official business in Bejing in 1991 to unfurl a banner in Tianamen square saying "to those whose died for democracy in China".  Since then she has been goading China about Tibet, FLG, later Xinjiang and lately Hong Kong.  Late 2019, after seeing the riots in HK, she said that "it was such a beautiful sight".  

The latest trip is just that. Just one of those shenanigans she did for personal accolates.  For 30 years, every China actions Pelosi "performed" triggered China and the reaction by China had been unsophisticated, and reinforced the false narrative of a "brutal communist regime".  People outside China still believe in China there is organ harvesting, slave labor to manufacture shoddy cheap goods for the world, dirty, ghost cities, any technological advancements are just violation of intellectual properties,..etc..    Unless China wants to be a hermit kingdom like it did in the past, it must be able to connect with the rest of the world.  Stiff engineering degree tehnocrats can't do that.  They can continue to build all those sophisticated and beautiful infrastructures, keeping advancing in semiconductors, continue to be world leaders in agricultural tech, improving on military tech, etc. But leave the soft power projections to those who are good at it.
