How do you think the US can get away with so many genocide and human right abuse not to mention hoarding resources all over the world?

I always like what the former diplomat, Kishore Mahbubani said about power. He said soft power is built on top of hard power. America's soft power is built on top of the hard power. Anyone who think they can skip the hard power part and focus on soft power only are naive. Case in example, Indonesia under Suharto, who gave up hard power built by his predecessor, in return for the US investment. The US and surrounding countries publicly praised Suharto's decision, even today. But look at how the US and Australia forced Indonesia to let go of East Timor. Or how Vietnamese and Thai fishermen kept fishing in Indonesian waters. Or how Singapore become safe haven for Indonesians to keep their ill gotten money. These are the same countries that "praised Suharto's wisdom". Only the strong can give mercy.

The different between the japs and the krauts were that Nazi leadership were largely purged/executed after the WW2, while the japs managed to keep some of them around to rule japan with the US backing. Their descendants continue to play important role in the japs politics today. Prime example is shinzo abe.
