For decades the US failed to persuade the EU to increase their defence budget. Now the EU will increase their defence budget significantly, freeing US hand to focus on Asia. Not to mention, significant chunks of those defence budget will go to American arms dealers, enriching Americans' coffer.

China need to be steady and prepare for all kind of contengencies. Reducing holding in US treasuries significantly is a must. Restructuring economy into more domestic consumption is a must. Diversifying the destination of Chinese export from western countries towards Africa, Asia and Latin America is a must. Opening Chinese market for them in return, and promoting the use of yuan for global transaction is a must. Militarily, China is on good track with the modernisation, but need to increase on more realistic training.
