This year's Naval Day pale in comparison to last year's, thanks to SH outbreak. President Xi actually went to Hainan this year, and several major ships entered service as well, however there wasn't any publicity.

Anyway most of PLAN area air defence ships have entered service by now, short of two 055 and one 052DL That gives 6 x 055 + 24 x 052D/L + 6 x 052C = 36 ships, not counting the two 051C. Within a year, the total should reach 39 ships, but I couldn't wait. Looking back ten years ago in 2012, PLAN only have two area air defence ships 170, 171, built in the first batch of 052C, you can say PLAN build up literally take off during Xi's era.

24 052D/L entered service between 2014 and 2022, at an average rate of 3 ships per year for the past 8 years. Looking into future, new batch of 052DL have already been laid down. While construction pace may slow down, it won't stop.
