I remember travelling in Beijing during the 90s.  Ordered a bowl of fried pork noodle, I got a giant bowl of noodles with a few slivers of pork.  Now, the portion is different.  Portion is comparable to HK, Taiwan or Singapore.  When I said "now" I meant pre-covid.  I was in Beijing September 2019.
