There were quite a few real good videos about it on Youtube, will try to find them. They talk about the long term plans that were made in the past, and they kept at it every year. IIRC that after all these efforts China has planted forest to the size of Italy!
As for those bizarre headlines, that is pathetic.
Sometimes it seems that they lost their grip on reality, and any headline will do.
The next headline probably be along the lines of, "Oversized butt plugs with no Vaseline do not hurt, it soothes butt hurt."
People need to feel good when they real the news.
