In this European war, it will resemble all other European wars when it is over. Some territory will exchange hands, and some agreement will be made. Nothing new.

What seems different this time, are the sanctions against Russia, and the UN vote to condemn Russia over this invasion.

Besides the 5 lies countries, the Europeans, and three Asian countries, no one else can be bothered for sanctions.

Essentially, no one cares, outside of the usual suspects.

That seems to me to be the key point.

These Western sanctions are kind of severe. Clearly, this is a punishment of Russia, who did not abide by the current world order, and the west wants to preserve this current world order.

No one else cares about this current world order.

And why should they?

These anti-Russian sanctions appear to be an attempt to uphold the current world order, where the west tries to retain the loudest voice. Yeah, right, whatever, then a shrug of the shoulders, from the rest of the world.

The Western media is making this out to be a contest between democracy and autocracy.

That probably is not true.

This is a struggle between the west and the rest.

In other words, this is struggle between the west and indifference.

Seems that the PRC will take a strategy of engaging with the west, saying you the west can try to maintain your hegemony, as long as you do not get in the way of the BRI or Huawei 5G network installs around the globe. Since China deals made with third countries are really none of anyone's business.

The BRI gets more countries signing on, such as the Winter Olympics, where there was a Western diplomatic boycott, but Argentina used that opportunity to sign onto the BRI. Clearly one side got more mileage and something material out of those issues and event surrounding those Olympic games.
