Afterall, the West (especially the US) and NATO are the reason why the Russians go berserk...not to mention China bailed out Russia the last time around (2014). Most likely, any breakthrough if tenable would happen 2 to 3 weeks from now when Ukrainians run out of food and water and are serious about making a deal. The Russians have already put all their cards and demands on the table. It is up to the Ukrainian to respond and cut a deal.

One thing I found really disheartening is how the US eggs on Ukrain and yet runs for the hills when push comes to shove. The entire episode/spat about Poland giving Mig-29s to Ukraine is so stupid and showed how spineless the US has become...it's their idea originally but the US refuses to handle and transfer the planes to Ukraine preferring Poland to assume the responsibilities and risk Russia's ire.
