When China first sent its own Yuhanyuan into space using its own rocket, some "progressive" murrikans I knew were upset because they thought China did it just because murrika had done it-- even though the first human was sent into space not by murrikans but by the Russians! Everyone else was following the Russians', not murrikans', footsteps.

By my experience, the whites in Europe don't seems to harbour such strange feelings.
