is (clearly) stronger than any international actors' associations, of which I'm not aware of any of note. No international body came to Zhao's rescue when she was disappeared, but international tennis definitively came to Peng's rescue when she was disappeared. US tennis pulled out of China entirely, losing millions of dollars in the process, on both sides. That kind of firepower along with closer international scrutiny because of it, has save Peng's ass where Zhao was hardly mentioned internationally at all.
