Women walking on the street were mistaken for prostitutes because of their ethnic appearance, men became angry when they were rejected and chased after the women in their cars. I don't know if that counts as a hate crime, but it was racially motivated, and I only consider physical violence/intimidation or property damage to be hate crimes. I understand that some Asians released a study claiming that most perpetrators of hate crimes against Asians were whites, but it turned out that they defined verbal harassment as a hate crime and much of the physical violence was committed by blacks. I'm not playing that game.

I say again that the vast majority of Chinese living in the US have been physically attacked or threatened with violence at some point. I don't know why you would believe this is "surreal", there are many who would agree with me. Your experiences are your own, as is your truly massive ego.
