The woke progressives are often openly anti-Chinese, and might not accept even indirect support. There are those on the right who look up to the modern PRC in the mistaken belief that it is the authoritarian ethnostate of their dreams. Do understand that all these new political "movements" of which you speak are not centrally organised by any means. BLM, the alt-right, Anonymous, antifa, etc. are pretty amorphous and can be thought of as just names that anyone can pick up, they are certainly not parties/groups/organisations with leadership councils and membership cards and funding. I tihnk there is a chance that they are around to distract public attention from more pressing social/political/economic issues in the United States.
