It is the factors of production, land, labor, entrepreneurship, and capital.

When Mao emerged victorious, Chaing had emptied the treasury, and the CCP had no capital. Having no capital, meant no R&D, or even no tech. If someone does not have the technology, they must go buy it right?

Having all this capital is important, and China has the most of it more than any other country in the world. China can do almost anything it wants in R&D, relatively speaking compared to others will less capital. Less capital means more constraints.

That is one cardinal rule of economics, capital is scarce.

Countries need capital to develop. China has the most of it. Nothing can stop China from developing and hitting all the targets the CCP has, if there are any official targets for growth.

Also, this talk about how anyone, such as America, can punish or constrain China via economic sanctions, that is impossible or ridiculous. China already has more capital than America. Why would China need American capital to develop the economy? If China needs some capital for investment, it will just look for it itself internally.

Bottom line, if China wants to reach the per capita levels of wealth like the developed countries, it will need a lot of capital still to invest and grow the economy to get there. China will get there because now we know they got money than anyone else.

Even if there is a total breakdown in trade between the west and China, that will not even matter, because China has more capital than anyone else to invest.

CCP is truly impressive. What are they doing lately the communist? They opened another stock exchange in Beijing recently. To pool the capital into domestic tech firms, those firms will use that capital to invest, keep the economy growing.

But ... isn't that what Marx said, that capital will just try to keep on growing, then take over everything?

China really is an interesting place.
