Most Chinese immigrants are idiots who think the US police/legal system will somehow protect them. Most left-leaning ABCs are virulently anti-gun (and also anti-Chinese, some of the Asian-Americans actually welcomed the killings). However, many of the old Cantonese are quite well armed. It's possible that some of these people might choose to defend themselves, but one shop owner in Oakland who fired on a robber was arrested for it.

I actually do not believe the media narrative about the violence at all. It's not a new thing and has been going on years before Trump or covid. It's got litle to do with white supremacists either, since the majority of the physical violence is committed by blacks. And then as now, most of these incidents have been confined to a few urban areas such as New York City or the San Francisco Bay Area, not nationwide. I suspect the media is deliberately stirring things up to set Chinese and blacks against each other, in order to both turn the anger of blacks away from white elites and to degrade relations between China and African countries, but it's not like the relations between Chinese and blacks in the US were ever very good in the first place.

Also, one thing that isn't much discussed is the role of Asian-Americans in the whole mess. The boba liberal Asians are estremely deferential to their while progressive masters, and would rather sweep the black-on-yellow racism under the table and blame their own immigrant parents instead. It's unfortunate that it's mostly older immigrants being targeted instead of the left-wing Asian activists.

The silver lining is, maybe Chinese will finally stop worshipping white people and America after this?
