my feeling is what the CCP is doing, the negatives are overblown, as per usual

1) Tech has a tendency to go around the rules.

That is why tech is disruptive and innovative. Put the rules in, and later, tech goes around it, because the new tech did something no one thought of.

Some of these laws seem absolutely new. Not just to China, but the world.

2) It is known, but still surprising, that in the world stock markets, two stock markets stand out.

They both have a very large market, with real depth and diverse holdings, and they also have a vibrant tech sector in their stock market.

The American stock market and the Chinese stock market are the only two major stock markets in the world that has exposure to a board tech base. No one else does.

These new CCP rules are geared for the Chinese tech companies, and with an eye on the American tech companies.

Who will come out ahead, we will know in a few years.

A wildcard here is the Americans. No other large tech sector will rise elsewhere in the world, and the CCP kind of want its tech to cooperate, the only unknown here with regulations is the Americans.

The Americans used to say they want to break up Micro$oft. They never did. However, Reagan I think did break up the telecom phone companies into smaller companies.

There is always talk recently about the US government taking on big tech.

That Zuckerberg actually testified in Congress that that he did not think it was a good idea because the size made it easier for his company to compete with China.

It depends I guess. If the Biden people wins the next election, they could take action against big tech. If Trump wins again, then they probably get rid of all the laws. LOL!

Also, we have to watch the trans-Atlantic alliance. If it deteriorates further, Europe will take action against big tech, which is American.

Chinese big tech, the government already taken action against them.

So it seems that the CCP believes they are anticipating similar regulations elsewhere.

3) There is one point no one mentions.

It goes back to why use technology?

We use technology to get more work done.

A calculator, a computer, sophisticated measuring instruments, that all helps us get more work done.

But this is problem now with big tech companies. The new tech they are pushing, is real good. It will do more jobs, to the point of killing jobs for people. Automated truck driving is a good example.

Now with the robotics improving, along with the AI and computing power, a lot of jobs probably will be gone.

Does the government, any government, want to speak with big tech about it, or just like big tech have its way and start wiping out traditional jobs?

It is possible there could be some curbs or discussions.
