They have finished remote testing of the Tianhe core module, including the deployment of the robotic arm. Later on, after TZ-2 and SZ-12 have arrived, some time later they will perform an initial test of using the robotic arm to transfer the TZ-2 from the front position to a side position, simulating the transfer of space lab.

The robotic arm equipped with camera can be used to monitor the surrounding of the CSS, transfer lab module, docking spacecraft, transfer of cargo to exposed experiment area.

The robotic arm can support EVA, transfer solar panel, and perform exterior inspection. This means if a set of solar panel is somehow damaged, they can detach it and replace it with a new set.

Two robotic arm can be combined to become a longer extended robotic arm. And actually the robotic arm can move by itself, mounting on multiple places on the CSS.
