I suspect a better option is to use the CZ-5 with 2&1/2 stage to launch even heavier load(I guess 30-35 tons) to LEO. The core will drop off at lower than orbital speed and then to predictable descend trajectory. The french Ariana 5 has a small stage on top of the main cryogenic stage
