I think it is better to wait until they succeed in doing that before start rolling out the maglev. While 600km/hr is almost doubling the current hi-speed train, I think the time saved isn't worth the cost, unless they can upgrade the track later to vacuum tube. But if they can increase the speed to 1000 or 1500km/hr, that will be game changing.
