serious restrictons and requirements at home. Now China looses all the restrictions. They don't really need the capitals and funding abroad.  Actually I don't think China needs the West at all. Most Chinese I know are very entrepreneurial. They own several business. Even if the West stop doing business with China completely, Chinese will just happily just find other people to trade without restriction.  It is all about capitalistic and being innovated.  

It was the wars and instabllties for last couple centuries deactivated many Chinese economical sectors, which destroyed China economy. Other than that, China was a pretty prosperious nation.  Chinese was pretty happily to trade with everyone.
