and a layered approach always best-like you  I usually don't need more then a light jcket/vest if warmer then -10C (thak you ginseng and herbs)my heavier coats are reserved for full days outside like fishing and always proper boots,socks,mittens,gloves and hat.A man/soldier needs good diet high in good protein,carbs and fat in winter..Women on other hand are cold even in summer(wearing sweaters for and evening's walk etc)-our basal metabolisms are just too different even in healthiest male/female-Viva la difference!!Take that stupid LGBTQ buttwipes.
