Yesterday the carrier based AWACS, dubbed tentatively as KJ-600, took its maiden flight.
It is expected to serve onboard the first Chinese catobar carrier 003.
003 has been moved into the dry dock about a month or so. I think the KJ-600 should be ready in time when 003 enter service. I expect it to carry out sea trial together with 003.
Today the 8th 055 and the 25th 052DL have been launched. Both are the last ship of the current batch under construction.
The latest two 052DL 121 Qiqihaer and 122 Tangshan have entered service on Aug 14. Unfortunately there're no photos of their commission ceremony.
The last two ships of 051 Luda, 165 Zhejiang and 166 Zhuhai have retired, marking the end of the Luda era.
Don't worry, 165 will return as a 052DL and 166 will return as a 055 class destroyer. May do a Luda post to see where have they reincarnated when I've time.
The 8th 071 has embarked on sea trial few days before the 075.
