For the sake of hypothesis, let's say a contested election leads to a Soviet-style collapse at the end of the year, followed by anarchy, chaos, and/or warlordism. Some Chinese might say it's a good time to storm Taiwan, but the global economic impact would be unimaginable. What would China do if the US went down?
