Half of them are in East Asia.  TMSC with its 6nm is the leader.  Intel recently threw the towel as it struggle with even a 10nm chip causing Apple to abandon Intel for its Mac line. China is getting close.  Despite trillions of dollars of growth and serious investments into all infrastructure, China is still on the learning curve. What made India think it can manufacture semi conductors when they barely have the resources to sustain current economic needs and has a history of not investing in long term infrastructural strategies?
