Like car accidents today,past a certain point when today's cost for labour-especially in USA and West in general-scarcity of parts etc-it's not 1942 when wartime economy can dictate that a hull can /shoulde  be rebuilt.Now with economic downturn etcmight not be feasible .Schadenfreude indeed.
