It was the part about offensives, that the further an offensive goes, the weaker it gets.

That only makes sense. If two people were in a street fight, the longer that goes, they will be exhausted by the end.

The United States went after China with two things,
1) a trade war
2) a tech war, where Huawei is the main battle

This has been going on for a while, and there is not too much effect.

Now, the Chinese counter attack, opening another front on the geopolitical scale.

But look what happens ...

Well, the United States can go for more trade war, which at this point is ineffective.

The United States could try more tech war, but at this point, they tried almost everything against, and next steps would be to separate the tech worlds complete between the USA and China, which would be highly detrimental to US companies. Both trade war and tech war is exhausted.

The next steps for the United States would be financial war or geopolitical war.

Financial war will put US Dollar hegemony at risk. The Chinese are the world's biggest buyer of oil. They ain't paying in USD to some countries already, like Russia and Iran, possibly Venezuela too. If the United States decides to go the sanctions route, that will open up the US Dollar to unwarranted risk. It could collapse. The QE does not say it should not.

The geopolitical war is more interesting.

At this point, with the trade war and tech war exhausted, and the financial far maybe too risky, the Americans can whip up the Taiwan issue.

But if they do that, with Iran right in the middle of the Middle East, its influence backed by China, will reach into Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and would border right onto Israel.
