I was being perfectly serious. And you should not underestimate the likelihood of such a thing happening; after all, even vegetarians will run out of beans at some point when the population of vegetarians exceeds the carrying capacity of the environment. Even if they don't need food at all (yogic inedia?), an ever-increasing population will eventually outstrip the availability of things like water, energy, cell phones and jobs.
