First, it's not just Trump, Democrats would also stir trouble with China. Second, the more worrying thing is that Trump accused China (and Russia) of very small nuclear tests (that somehow failed to trigger seismic detectors or release any radiation at all), and now the US wants to use that as a pretext to abrogate test-ban treaties and resume nuclear testing. That's touching on too sensitive ground to be smoke and mirrors.
