so don't bother. In Feb, a test for coronavirus used to cost $3,270 in US without insurance, or over $1,400 with insurance. Back then if you've a cold, would you go for a test? Even if you would, the doctor would refuse if you've no relevant travel or contact history. Now it should be mostly covered by the emergency package, I presume. For the Mexican, the solution is to get a wealthy man to test for you, as the American had figured it out.
