and someone who hosted a game show isn't an "entertainer"? I don't disagree that disputes among the elites have always occurred, but what we are observing is something new. Both Trump and the Democrats are trying to rally populist fervor from the divided lower classes, which in itself is not unheard of, but the intensity and animosity is unprecedented. It's as if divide-and-rule ran off the rails.
Trump is very differnt from any previous US president on one key respect: although he's as elite as they come, he never held any kind of office before (whether civil or military). This has never happened before.
