Well, that is that. American dominance in semiconductor chips required for telecommunications equipment broken once and forever. No going back now for any Chinese company in that industry. You do not need American parts, you can always buy it somewhere else, either domestic or foreign.Probably the same will go for cell phones too. Cell phones made in China will not require any American parts in the future. Once someone breaks through, the gossip will start, and others will find the same path to walk down the same road eventually.

Supercomputers China is already self-sufficient more or less. China can build those supercomputers without American chips, but no other countries in the world have as much or as fast supercomputers like China, which logically should indicate that it is close to being all domestic parts. Thank Obama for his supercomputer chip ban to spur on Chinese efforts in that industry.
