Other than tax evasion such as not letting the government know so that they cannot confiscate your wealth, there does not appear to be much other use to hold crypto currency. Does it pay an interest rate like a bank account? Not sure.As a store of value, such as gold, it is too volatile for that. It trades like a commodity like food or metals.
Although we can acknowledge this is a big thing. The CME trades contracts for it.
So it can be a store of value if you go long the bitcoin and short the futures. But you got to maintain that and not sure if anyone does that. My amateur ass guess is all the volume on the futures only related to arbitrage activity with the bitcoin itself.
