I am surprised the Type 343 fire control was retained (I still don't know the designation of this newer Type 343 director without the stereo rangefinder). The large obsolete HQ-61 launcher has been removed, I don't know if it will be replaced with FL-300N which would seem to be a logical choice. Most ECM/ESM and decoy launchers were taken off, who knows what if anything will replace them. The Type 87 ASW rocket launchers are also gone, they were the only anti-submarine weapons the ship was regularly equipped with, although 542 or one of her sisters was used to test the CY-1 ASROC in the late 1990s (CY-1 replaced some of the HQ-61N missiles). All other ships were decommissioned and given to the Coast Guard with reduced armament. Until the late 1990s these were PLAN's most modern frigates and the only ones to embark both SAMs and a helicopter, now they seem like childrens toys next to 054A.
