IMO, from a long term perspective,the blacks during the civil war made bad mistake backing Lincoln; had the slave trades, legal or illegal continued for a few more decades, USA could be a country with 20-40% blacks and significantly more demographically beneficial to the blacks. Lincoln assassination was a 'black swan' event on that particular world-line
