The US government would build it, and build first build it better than anyone else, therefore the military and government worked to together to maintain US dominance with this new 5G technology.

That was a very curious idea. They only wanted to do that because they did not want to get beat by China to the punch, and have China take the first mover advantage in the new 5G industry, and reap all commercial benefits.

The idea probably has not really gone anywhere.

It is very good in a way, because once the US military is involved, then it is a state secret. If the US Army copies or steals any tech to do their 5G, no one is going to sue over patent infringements because no one will know due to it being a state secret. If someone should know, then obviously they are a spy and will be arrested for obtaining state secrets. Hence doing it that way USA can maintain it dominance because now they can sell this system to their allies, all under this state secret 5G formula.

The drawback is that everyone else now will use this same trick, declare everything a state secret, and never pay any patent royalties to anyone anymore ever again. Like it is all free now, like it is communism. In China, almost everything is already a state secret so they are already one step ahead that way, lolz.

That's the US Army, using communism to undermine communism, so that American capitalism can win.

That is a real truth in this world today IMHO, that anytime the Americans start talking sh!t like: "We got to destroy the village to save the village", they have loss big time. They just do not know it yet. A lag of a few years is the normal lag to realization of that.
