What that phone is good for, is to read the newspapers at lunch. You don't need the entire paper anymore, just put the phone on the table, read and eat. How nice that is. Reading newspapers at lunch is modernized very nicely this way.

The other thing about the cell phone, it is more of a compatible device for the social media, such as Facebook, twitter, Instagram, and weChat. That is why the cell phone is so big over the PC and laptop nowadays.

My theory is that the social media, basically self-adoration. When you talk to someone, anyone, they tend to talk about themselves. The social media is the perfect platform for that. Among friends, everyone gets a turn talking about themselves. Everyone is reading those messages on their phone.

So my theory is this ... that is why these forums have declined, because everyone would rather talk about themselves in social media. Every forum I go to, it is not the same, just fewer people. Does not matter what topic, participation is lower.

The comments section in the newspapers still going strong, but those were always flame fests.

Everywhere else, such as a forum, where semi-civilized discussion is expected, people not interested in that as much as before. The social media I theorized plays a large part in that decline.

Check this out. This is NFL football quarterback Tom Brady, who probably is the best QB to ever play the game. He is on social media, and he is trolling the opponents in a fun way. If someone like him is on social media, then everyone is on social media.

Of course, the only people not on social media, is people like me!
