Brooklyn Beckham has faced a wave of backlash after posting some photos of Chinese tourists in Italy.
The 19-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham shared a photo of Chinese tourists sitting in a gondola, as well as an image of an Asian woman in a supermarket, along with the caption, “no place like Italy innit”.
Many people have taken offence to his post, claiming it was a “racist” move on the star’s part, and was “insulting China”.

“Brooklyn Beckham is such a racist, he have (sic) to apologise to Asian people! he got no right to blame any tourists for visiting any country in this world!” one Twitter user wrote.
“Brooklyn Beckham’s gotta be ignorant AF if he thinks that’s not racist. So the Asian tourists were supposedly interfering with his true Venetian experience? Is he not a tourist himself though,” another tweeted.
Other people took issue with Brooklyn “not seeking permission” from the woman before taking her photo.

“Hey Brooklyn Beckham. Perhaps you can ask that lady first if you want to take a photo of her. Besides, don’t act like you never go to a Chinatown. Kid there are so many things you have to learn. Don’t make the judgment easily. Finally, don’t play with fire and don’t be a coward,” one person wrote on Twitter.
Brooklyn has since deleted the post and made his Instagram account private.
Back in 2016 Brooklyn was paid £100,000 ($186 AUD) to star in an advertisement for Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Huawei.
He also appeared on the cover of Vogue China that same year.
