It was years before DNA profiling, so the only useful information the Soviets could have obtained from Mao's poop was on his health/nutrition (granted, that's valuable info but possibly not worth the effort of making a special toilet and faecal chamber when you can get it from observation alone). Psychological profiling based on excreted tryptophan is simply ludicrous, even for the country of Lysenko. I feel sorry for those poor Russian spies who had to sift through all that sh!t.
