The Kondensor (Squeeze Box) optical/laser director was never fitted to 138 or 139, probably because PLAN never used the laser-guided 130mm shells it was designed for. I believe it was removed during the current upgrade of 136 and 137.

AK-630 was removed from 136 and 137 as well in favour of Chinese CIWS (I think 1130, IIRC). But 138 and 139 had Kashtan instead. I seem to remember Shorty or one of our other USN former members saying the Kashtan was not as effective as claimed because its fire control system could not operate both guns and missiles simultaneously, or something like that. I wonder if it will also be replaced. Similarly, will the Kite Screech be replaced with Type 344? Sunburn is probably eventually gone from all PLAN Sovs, as are Russian ECM/decoys/countermeasures.

Will 138 and 139 get the FL-3000?

138 and 139 both dropped the aft AK-130 turret and got better helo facilities instead, along with a Cross Dome radar on top of the hangar. Will that be retained? Will a harpoon grid be added for commonality with non-Kamov helicopters?
