Walking on the street at night, I stepped over people sleeping on the sidewalks. I didn't want to but they blocked my way. There were many hundreds sprawled out in rows (probably thousands or tens of thousands throughout the whole city), worse than San Francisco, and I wondered whether I was in the United States or India. BTW the outbreak is spreading to Los Angeles and other regions of California. Most poorer people in the US are on drugs, which increases their vulnerability to disease even if they aren't shooting intravenously.
