for what they have done for the country especially in preserving culture.  If you look at Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Bangcock Thailand, they have been heavily under Western influence. Thai women, for example, are shy or even shameful to wear their sinh.  In contrary, Lao women will continue to preserve their culture and nothing to be ashame of their traiditional dress.  I highly doubt there will be Lao models in bikini unless they compete in Miss Universe where it is required.
