They would go to a poor village or province to prove their points interviewing certain ethnics or tribes then paint their misery as a result of Chinese influence. They would not bring up the fact that Laos economy has been growing between 7% to 8% for the last 20 years and millions have been out of poverty.  It is not only Chinese come to Laos, Malaysians, Vietnamese, Thais, Singaporeans, Japanese, and Westerners are there too.  Many are there to invest and others are their to help and advise Lao governments.  It is true that no one can deny some negative impacts on Laos from Chinese investments but they can't make it sound like everything is just bad.
