Notice Thailand is mainly devoid of Communist insurgency because there was no need for it. Communism happened in colonized countries of Asia, like Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Malaya, Philippines, Indonesia and of course China. As Chinese saying goes,you need strong medicine to cure serious sickness. And communism is the only cure to get rid of western exploitation. That is why these Communist country like Vietnam revert back to more normal mode of operation to seek it's own way of peacefull development.
