The  BRs luv the LCA bcos it's 'made in india'. The PLAAF also prefer facing  LCA over Rafale precisely also bcos LCA is 'made in india'.

Besides the imported engine,radar..., the polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fibre for making the carbon fibre that goes into the airframe is also imported. The basic design of LCA was done by Dassault back in the 1980s. Apparently the hindus don't own all the 'IPR' of the LCA basic design(I mean the french didn't pass to them all the related data);when they want to improve the plane,they need to return to the original designer
