The claim was questioned by a more secular hindu(I would call him a hindu libertarian) at his blog. However many of the readers supported that yoga chap's claim.

From one of the readers:

"China

How people of advanced Hindu/Vedic civilization ruled ancient China and taught them everything from science to high philosophies

“Taoism is Deva-ism. The Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu propagated the Advaita (non-dual) philosophy of the HinduVedic tradition. The name of his ‘Toa’ philosophy has been completely misunderstood by all scholars who have written on China so far. The Chinese word ‘Tao’ [the ‘T’ pronounced as a ‘D’] is nothing but the Sanskrit word Deva. Consequently Taoism is Chinese Vedic Theism.” The general principles and codes for living like those in the Vedic lifestyle and the spiritual path of Sanatana-Dharma (Hinduism) are also found in the ways of Taoism, the moral principles of Confucius, and Mahayana Buddhism. The Chinese also worship gods, goddesses, and ancestors with mantras, tantras, and ritual. Their beliefs in the creation of the universe, rebirth, karma, and the usefulness of rituals and the assistance of divine powers to humanity are also similar to the Vedic customs. For example, in the Chinese tradition we find the description of the creation to be very similar, in a general sense, to that found in the Vedic literature. They believe that in the beginning everything was once like a single ocean having the divine powers of nature and spirit in subtle form. These mixed and became converted to the male principle Yang and the female principle Yin, as well as heaven and earth. This is similar to the Shiva/Shakti principle in the Vedic tradition.
In this same line of thought, Count Biornstierna observes on page 85 of his book The Theogony of the Hindus: “What may be said with certainty is that the religion of China came from India.

China was influenced by India in other ways as well. For example, the alternative form of medicine known as acupuncture is believed to have originated in China. In Korean academies, students are correctly told that acupuncture originated in India. An ancient Sanskrit text on acupuncture is also said to be preserved in the Ceylonese National Museum at Columbo in Sri Lanka.

Regarding the tall claims on advancements and innovations of Chinese culture made by Joseph Needham. In the book, The Genius of China: 3000 Years of Science, Discovery and Invention, Robert Temple reviews the findings of Joseph Needham at Cambridge University. He says that the Chinese knew and used poison gas and tear gas in the fourth century BCE. They were making cast iron in the fourth century BCE and manufactured steel from cast iron in the second century BCE. They built the first suspension bridge in the first century CE. And they invented matches in 577 CE. This was respectively 2300, 2000, 1800, 1700, and 1000 years before the West. So, as Needham asks, how could the Chinese have been so far in advance of the western civilizations? And if the Chinese mentality was so innovative, then why aren’t they now? Well, Eminent historians suggest, it is because China inherited its advanced knowledge from advanced Hindu/vedic/Indian civilization. Thus, they merely used the earlier established knowledge the ancients already knew. And all arrows point in the direction to the Hindu/Vedic culture of India as being the preceding advanced civilization which shared its knowledge with the world, of which China was aware. Thus, China owed much to India for its early achievements..."
